As CEO of Akira Graphics, I have to have many hats: Project Manager, Lead Designer, Art Director, Sales, Client Relations are among the few that come with the territory.
Lately, I've stumbled upon something I knew was bound to happen. I'm been craving to do more creative work than business management. It's the foundation of this business, doing what you love to do. But who's to run your business better than you? My wife's been amazing, and she knows my struggle with this and doing what she can to help. She's even started making project comps! She's spearheaded 2 projects already for 2 of our bigger clients and both her comps were approved and used!
But the fact remains, when so many projects need management, direction, delegation and implementation, it's hard to find time doing what you enjoy.
How can we find a middle ground between business management and designing?
